The John D. Rockefeller Parkway is the area south of Yellowstone National Park and north of Grand Teton National Park. The Coordinates for the first site are 44.103489,-110.68651 . It is also called the Ashton- Flagg Ranch Road.
After having to travel 15 miles on grassy lake road to find a site that was open, I decided to document the details about these 8 sites. You might notice a beautiful little dog in some of the photos, this will be my camping hound Stella.
Lets get to it:
All sites have pit toilets, fire rings, bear boxes and a picnic table. Also, all sites are easily accessed by a gravel road. Best part of these sites is that they are completely free.
GPS Coordinates added, The GPS coordinates are to the restroom at each camp location. To arrive at the road that will allow you to access these sites you will have to get to the Flagg Ranch Headwaters Resorts and continue on the Flagg Ranch road to the first site, that is about 1 mile past the resort.

did you happen to get coordinates on the campgrounds?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have updated each location. Thanks for reminding me to update.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this information. Grace (in Tucson)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that the GPS coordinates for Campsites 6 & 7 are the same.
DeleteHi. I understand what you are sharing about there not being a lot of information of the camps in this area. One of the biggest reasons is that it is not typically an area where larger RVs, Class C and bigger, will want to travel due to the rough road. The road is on a lower budget line to be maintained by Grand Teton National Park. Typically the maintenance is performed once a season. Or the year it was shut down for the season by never opening for 2013, none at all. But the biggest reason, in my 42 years of using this area is that those that come and camp here don't share this location publicly. These camps are typically shared amongst friends and like "Fight Club" one of the rules of "Fight Club" is no one talks about "Fight Club." Thus, no one talks about Grassy Lake Road Camps.
ReplyDeleteI think coming from from hwy 26 the road is fine for almost all rig sizes. Always well graded and good ride. I am happy to share this secret site to all who are looking for an amazing place to camp and just like the movie fight club is over....
ReplyDeleteAre you looking for an affordable campervan hire in Germany? Why don’t you visit ‘RV Rental Network’ to have a look at the available options?
